News : EMIRATES BOOTS PORTFOLIO IN SEYCHELLES
EMIRATES Hotels and Resorts, a subsidiary of well-diversified Emirates Group,
has announced a US$253 million resort project to be developed at Cap Ternay on
Mahe.
The joint agreement of the Emirates Cap Ternay Resort and Spa, which is expected
to open in 2010, was signed in May 2007 at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai by HE
Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and CEO, of Emirates Group, and Mr. Joseph
Belmont, Vice-President. The agreement formalises Emirate's commercial invesment
into the development and the resort's concept, while securing the right to a
99-year land lease over the property.
Construction of the Emirates Cap Ternay Resort and Spa will commence in 2008. The
main resort features 186 rooms planned for families and budget-conscious travellers,
and 230 deluxe rooms designed as semi-detached, cottage-style complexes. A private
resort area will feature 15 water-bungalows, the first of their kind in Seychelles and
rivalling the best in the world. This area will also house 40 two-bedroom villas,
and a presidential suite of over 600 square metres.
