The Government introduced different schemes to offer assistance to small and 
    medium enterprises to be able to undertake their business and was being 
    managed by different organisations.  In order to better manage and facilitate 
    the development and growth of the small and medium enterprises, the Government 
    created the 
Concessionary Credit Unit (CCU) under the 
    
Ministry of Finance in November 2005. 
    This unit is a one stop shop for all the existing 
    concessionary credit facilities and provides support and facilitates the 
    development of the small business.  It also monitors the financial 
    arrangements and the performance of assisted businesses receiving 
    concessionary financial assistance. The CCU process all requests for loan 
    applications to be considered by a Board consisting of private and public
    sectors representatives.   The following are the concessionary credit 
    facilities that falls under the CCU:          
          
Youth Enterprise Scheme 
          Agriculture Development Fund 
          Export Marketing Scheme 
          Refinance Scheme for Export 
          Small Business Finance Facilities
           Cottage Industry Scheme
