News : COMMONWEALTH - INDIA: SMALL BUSINESS COMPETITIVENESS PROGRAMME
The Managing Director of the Small Enterprise Promotion Agency (SEnPA), Mrs. Maryse Berlouis,
and the President of the Association of the Seychellois Craftsmen (ASC), Mrs.
Jenny Ah-Kong, represented Seychelles at the sixth Annual Commonwealth - India Small
Business Competitiveness Programme, held in India.
The programme which was spread over five days was attended by Indian Union ministers
for Small Scale Industries, Agro and Rural Industry, Mahavir Prasad, Coir Board Chairman
A.C. Jose as well as some 65 delegates from 43 Commonwealth countries.
The five-day session was a capacity-building programme aimed at developing competitive
small-business practices, policies and strategies for Commonwealth developing states.
During the five days, talks and presentations on how to develop and promote small
businesses were organised.
The programme was also an opportunity for the delegates to share experiences with
other delegates from other countries.
